The Nevada Hospital Association (NHA) is sponsoring exercises and classes as we begin to transition back to the normalization of business and activities. These training opportunities will enable organizations of all sizes, geographies and capabilities to have a shared understanding of emergency response and meet regulatory, accreditation or corporate compliance requirements.

The first set of activities will be the return of our annual, full-scale earthquake exercise (FSE) . Last year, this was canceled due to the COVID-19 response. This year we are planning to continue the tradition.

Exercises will include a table-top exercise that can be self-facilitated. This discussion-based activity will help organizations familiarize themselves with policies and plans and identify focus areas for the full-scale exercise. The NHA will soon release additional “Survivor Skills” and “Minute Drills.” These drills take just a minute to complete and reinforce individual safety actions and responsibilities. The FSE named EQ2021 will take place on October 21, 2021.

If you are a member of the NHA’s Rural Healthcare Preparedness Partners (RHPP), your organization may also be eligible to receive onsite hazmat and patient decontamination training. These classes can be scheduled at your location for dates after June 1, 2021.
