The Nevada Hospital Association’s National Dislocated Worker Grant- Employment Recovery Program (NDWG-ER) is a partnership of the NHA and Nevadaworks and provides Federal grant funding resources and support to individuals pursing health care careers, as well as their protentional health care employers.

The goal of the NDWG-ER Program is to address the shortage of registered nurses (RN) and allied health care professionals in northern Nevada. The program is designed to aid in the successful transition from academia to a professional career through occupational skills training, on-the-job-training (OJT) and advocacy for permanent job placement. In doing so, the NDWG-ER Program provides multiple services to ensure program participants’ success and help ease workforce shortage issues that are faced by Nevada health care employers.

The NHA participated in the Health Care Workforce Development grant program since 2010 and enrolled over 500 new graduate nurses and allied health professional with over a 90 percent employment retention rate.

During the last quarter of 2020, the NHA was awarded Federal funding from the Department of Labor to assist those who experienced a job layoff or reduced work hours within the past five years, or as a result of the current pandemic.  Click on the links below for additional program details.
